You have read the Silmarilion! Lost Tales! did you like them? I LOVE LOTR but haven't read Lost Tales.

Lost Tales is Really hard to understand. It was written during the war. I think I got a bad copy of the book, because there were notes after each chapter that went on forever trying to explain the last chapter I read.
I did read the Silmarillion, and I have to say it is a must-read. It makes everything else about the Lord of the Rings so much more brighter.
Yea, I must have had the same copy of Lost Tales. The notes drove me crazy so I stopped reading it (plus I was only 12 so it was a little over my head) and have never picked it up since. But I'm thinking about finishing it sometime soon.
I agree the Silmarillion IS a must read. In fact I’m reading it for the second time right now.
