The Garden

(This is my First descriptive Essay for My Class "Write From the Heart". I am taking a private tutelage every Tuesday under Mrs. Betty Cook.)

I have found the art of God in many places, some in places expected and others in places generally unexpected. One particular place is in my family’s garden. A special piece of this extraordinary work is in a dazzling red rose that now stands before my window. I was intrigued by its brightness when I saw it for the first time, for it was not there the day before. It seemed to appear over night like an unexpected gift. The red color of it is of a sight that has been copied by even the greatest artists of the world. The red rose possesses a sweet aroma about it that seems to express the very essence of the blessed flower. The soft texture of its petals retain a feeling not found on other things of the world, but its own unique sensitivity. Silk comes close to comparison to the fabric of the Rose petal only that the petal is lush and fleshy. The rose is one huge detail of the garden but such a small and sometimes over looked piece of art, an art altogether unduplicated. The azalea is a large plant with pink petals that have small yellowish white flowers arranged next to them. If ever an art that fascinates me most is the fact that God’s art has life and can move, this appears in part with plants. For example, an azalea changes during the season intensely. In winter the plant seems to disappear like it has been completely removed from the ground. When spring finally arrives and the cold has been removed for a season the azalea grows back to its large size and blooms once again. All plants tend to do this, for all plants alike have life and the ability to move and grow. This in turn expresses the true eternal, inimitable art of God. With these things in thought it reminds me so much more of how God’s art is so very unique, for His art consists of all five senses: Sight, smell, feeling, taste, sound. There is absolutely nothing like a garden. A flower makes one appreciate the world one is in only so much more. The feelings one can have when focusing on God’s art are of infinity. But his design alone doesn’t only appear in plants, but in animals and the stars. He considers us his greatest design. We must be eternally grateful for that and for the world he has created that we live in. The Art of God is an enigma, a never ending always surprising form of creation that is crucial to make life worth living. It is evidence that God truly is a caring and loving eternal father who loves us dearly. There is so much detail in the smallest things which adds to God’s Special way of creativity. I will always look at my garden and be reminded of how much he loves me. That is, I believe, the purpose of the garden.
